School Uniform
School uniform consists of a red school sweatshirt/cardigan, red or white polo shirt and black or grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore. In summer, red and white gingham dresses may be worn instead. Children should wear appropriate black footwear in school such as traditional sandals or shoes (not trainers, fabric shoes or fashion shoes). Unnatural hair colours or shaven patterns are not part of our uniform.
Jewellery
For safety reasons, children are only allowed to wear small studded earrings. No other jewellery is allowed.
Please note that NO jewellery or watches should be worn in P.E. lessons or swimming and it is not safe to cover earrings with tape. Please can you make sure that your child is able to remove their own jewellery before P.E. lessons; if they are not able to remove their own jewellery, it should not be worn on P.E. days.
If you are thinking about having your child's ears pierced, please can you consider doing it at the start of the summer holidays so they have 6 weeks to heal and will be ready to be removed before the start of the new term.
Sunglasses
Please seek permission from the headteacher if your child needs to wear sunglasses. We prefer that children wear a hat with a brim, but recognise that some children need to wear sunglasses for medical reasons.
Smart Watches and Fitness Trackers
Children are not allowed to wear smart watches or fitness trackers to school.
PE Kit
Please can children wear PE kit on their PE days. They will not need to leave a PE kit or pump bag in school. Here is a list of PE kit which children should wear:
- a red 'Cononley' t-shirt or plain red t-shirt without a logo (without a collar)
- plain black shorts / skorts
- plain red hoodie or red school sweatshirt
- plain black jogging bottoms (not leggings)
- plain black trainers
There is no need to provide indoor pumps. We will inform you if this changes.
We ask that trainers and joggers are plain black, with no logos or branding. This avoids any competition between pupils about who has the latest styles and popular brands and ensures that no pupils feel left out if their family is unable to afford more expensive, branded kit.
Wellies
Children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 will need to have a pair of named wellies (to be left in school) and a suitable waterproof coat so that they can use the outdoor resources when it is wet.
Please ensure all clothing is clearly labelled with your child's name.
Our school uniform can be purchased from any provider, including supermarkets.
If you would prefer to buy school sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts and t-shirts with the school logo, these can be purchased from:
Skip to School, Water Street, Skipton http://www.skiptoschool.co.uk
Book Bags and Ruck Sacks
All children in EYFS to Year 3 should have a school book bag. School book bags are purchased from Skip to School, Water Street, Skipton http://www.skiptoschool.co.uk.
Children in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 may have a school ruck sack instead of a book bag. Ruck sacks are not permitted in other years because there is no room to store them in the cloak room.
