Over the last two weeks, all children in EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have visited Skipton Castle as part of their work in history. EYFS have learned about the jobs people did in castles and Key Stage 1 have learned about the different people who lived and worked in Skipton Castle, including Lady Anne Clifford. Key Stage 2 have learned about the history of Skipton Castle since 1066, the sieges which took place during the Civil War, and Lady Anne Clifford's restoration of the castle after it was slighted by Oliver Cromwell. The guides unanimously commented on how polite and well-behaved the children were and how much they knew about the history of the castle.
